Two important determinants of health are genetics and environment. Our lab explores how these factors work together in health and disease.

 

We use the nematode C. elegans to study basic mechanisms of neurodegeneration and to understand how diet, the microbiome and pathogen exposure affect neurodegeneration.

We also study how environment influences developmental processes.
